Configure Settings

After signing into PlacePunch, the first step to start using PlacePunch is to configure your settings page.

To get started, click on the "Settings" link in the left navigation bar.

On the "Settings" page:

1) Click "Connect your Foursquare profile!" Follow the instructions to connect your Foursquare profile to PlacePunch.

2) If you would like PlacePunch to automatically send Tweets on your behalf, you will need to connect your Twitter account. Click on the "Connect Your Twitter profile!"

Once this is complete, your accounts will now be connected to PlacePunch.

Additionally, on this "Settings" page, you will also want to declare the name of your business. This is name that your customers will see when they receive rewards or sign up for your rewards program.

3) Under the "Business Name" section, enter the name of your business. (This should be the same name as the public knows you.)

4) Enter the email address that you'd like to use with PlacePunch. PlacePunch will use this email address to send all offers and communications with customers from your PlacePunch account.

For example, if you enter joes@joesdiner.com, all rewards and offers sent to customers will come from joes@joesdiner.com. Your customers may also respond to this email address with any questions, so be sure use an email address that is active.

5) PlacePunch also enables you to create your own custom subdomain for your patron registration pages. Instead of sending your customers to app.placepunch.com/patrons/xxx, you can now direct customers to yourbrand.placepunch.com.

To setup your subdomain, just scroll down to the "Subdomain" section on the settings page. Enter the name of the subdomain you'd like to use. Make sure to keep this short and relevant. Also, it is recommend that you use a name that will never have to be changed.

So, for instance, if your business name is Joe's Diner and Donuts, you would enter "joes" or "joesdiner."

You can then tell your customers to sign up for your loyalty program at the new subdomain. In this case, it would be "joes.placepunch.com"
